Ways to entertain guests in Sacramento
August 6, 2024
The parties that feel good aren’t the ones with the most going on. They’re the ones where guests have a few real reasons to get off their phones and talk to each other.
Music sets the pace
Whether it’s a DJ or a live band, this is the one thing worth spending on. A DJ can read the room and shift genres as the night goes; a band brings its own energy but has less range. Either way, the music is doing more work than almost anything else at the party.
Food and drink guests can get up for
A DIY cocktail bar or a taco station with toppings does two things a plated meal doesn’t: it gets people out of their seats, and it gives strangers a reason to stand next to each other and talk. It doesn’t need to be elaborate. It just needs to require a little participation.
A couple of light games, not a full lineup
Lawn games like cornhole or giant Jenga work outdoors. Trivia or charades work indoors. Pick one or two, not five, so they’re actually a highlight instead of background noise nobody plays.
One good photo booth, not a wall of gimmicks
Skip the 360 booth, the green screen, and the prop table. A single open air booth with real lighting does more than all of those combined: guests get a photo that actually looks good, sent to their phone in seconds, with your event’s name on it. Ours runs $599 flat for three hours of unlimited sessions, and it works better as one clean setup than as one of six competing photo gimmicks.
Fewer things, done well
A party with music, food people can move around for, one or two games, and a photo booth that actually works is a better night than one with ten activities and no room to enjoy any of them. Check your date if the booth is one of the things you want.
